Mara is the creative director of Moorish Gypsy Dance Company in Cary, NC. Her specialty is Arab-Spanish Fusion and Gypsy style Bellydance. As an educator, her primary goal is preserving cultural dance and history, while promoting a positive and healthy body image for woman and young girls.

May 2008

"Shimmy for the Cure" fundraiser for the Susan B. Koman race for the cure foundations. We performed at Xios Restaurant in Apex, NC with local bellydance sisters. We helped raise over $800 which was our pledge for the race! There were 25 bellydancers racing through downtown Raleigh the next day!
